Group Optimisation Director – Melbourne, Australia

Primary objective of the job:

      • The objective of the role is to add value to the MNO’s EBITDA via supporting our markets in cost reduction, process improvement, margin enhancing and general profit improvement initiatives
      • This is a high-profile role with exposure to the Group Senior Management team, market CEOs and interaction with our Board of Directors from time to time
      • The successful candidate will be afforded the opportunity to add significant value to the MNO and develop further in our organization
      • Reporting to the Group CFO

Main duties and responsibilities:

      • Management of the Champions Plan process
      • This requires markets to develop initiatives to assists with over deliver versus budget targets
      • The Optimisation Director is required to assist markets in development of their plans, track and report progress and assist with delivery
      • Prepare a monthly report for the Board on progress v Champions Plan and other initiatives and present to the Board on occasions
      • Identify initiatives for profit improvement and work with markets to deliver upside; such initiatives include headcount reduction plans, process improvement, procurement negotiations, cross market initiatives, pricing improvement and amendments etc
      • Work with individual market CEOs and CFO on cost transformation projects which may be developed when units are off budget targets
      • Management of the Project RED process; project RED is market led projects designed to encourage local staff to identify opportunities for profit improvement
      • Work with Regional CEO’s on a case by case basis, providing assistance in relation to budget achievement
      • Regular travel across the Caribbean markets and potentially to the Pacific if required

Academic qualifications and experience required for job:

      • Master’s degree in Business, Commerce, Engineering, or equivalent plus an international accounting qualification is required: CA/ACA or CPA designation
      • Minimum 5+ years of post-qualification experience required and experience in the telecommunications industry will be an advantage
      • Commercial experience is essential with a proven track record of delivering value to organisations
      • Excellent people skills with a history of interacting at a senior level
      • A can do and pro-active attitude is essential with the ability to work in an unstructured and fluid culture
      • Prior experience in successfully managing a team to efficiently meet stringent deadlines
      • Strong analytical skills with a proven ability to use a systematic approach to problem identification and resolution
      • Have highly developed verbal and written communication skills
      • Have a proven track record of delivering objectives on tight deadlines
      • The ambition to move into a senior CEO or CFO role in the future
